Conversation with Jess
Yesterday I did a photo-shoot that was inspired by Corrine Day, a photographer that did a photo shoot with Kate Moss, where they had a conversation whilst Corrine took the odd snap to see what unusual faces Kate Moss pulled.
I did the same and added my own touch. I had a conversation with my friend Jess where I took snaps whilst Jess spoke and these were the outcomes. I used a black and white background and edited the images with two different effects to see which ones came out better.
It was pretty hilarious with all the faces Jess pulled, it was good fun. I always enjoy editing the photographs after, looking over them and seeing which works and which didn't, is always very satisfying.
With these photographs I used my Sony a390 digital SLR to capture the priceless expressions and later edited them with an app called VSCO cam to get the effects. I added two effects to give an edgy yet vintage look that I wanted to capture, (which I hope I did).
Overall I'm satisfy with them, as I couldn't go wrong really with this photoshoot as I wanted to grasp the unexpected and unready expressions, that others may think during a regualar photoshoot (where everything should be flawless) as an imperfection. But the whole outcome I wanted from the photographs are exactly what I acquired, the naturalness and nothing fake or silly of an unanticipated moment.
This is completely different to how I usually work as I normally prefer to set up the scene and have everything exactly where I want them but this is completely opposite to that. I'm attempting to go more street photography and just capture images in the moment.
