Alexa Chung the Goddess & Queen

Alexa Chung. Where do even begin with pure perfection. She has to be one of my idols who I just adore.
I bought her book recently and have finished it during my journey down to Devon this Christmas, (which was great!).
Alexa’s book is like a picture book biography, but not fully about her life but about her inspirations, her idols and her style of fashion.
After reading her book it has made me feel like I need to step up my game so maybe one day I’ll be where she is with a book.
In her book she talks about who inspires her and who she is as a person with her style, trying to remain effortless but actually requires every effort to pull that style. Reading her book has inspired me to do more with myself. I love how she presents her book too; include images from her life through the photographs she includes.
I seriously recommend reading this book if you adore her as much as I do, it’s brilliant in ways of fashion history she brings back as part of her influences.

Leeds College of Art Submission

I received a letter a couple of weeks ago from Leeds College of Art, one of the universities I applied for to study Fashion Design.
With deep consideration I’ve also applied for Art & Design Foundation course to further my knowledge and skills in art. Wish me luck that I get in at Loughborough University to do the foundation course.
Anyway as part of the submission process Leeds College of Art asked for a self-portrait that represents us as individuals. In the end I submitted this.
The portrait is suppose to represent me, my culture and fashion, a few things that summaries me as a person.
The mediums I used include colouring pencils, tonal pencils and brusho.

Home

My friend Holly and I headed into a shop in Nottingham city centre before going to Hockley where we found a furnishing store where there were collections of different types and styles of furniture which was effect to do some different scened photography.
Holly is like my muse, she inspires me yet I love to use her in my own work. She was the one who gave me this idea to do some photography in the furniture store.
I used my Sony A390 camera before editing them with the app VSCO to give the whole effect. These photographs came out better than I thought which I'm extremely pleased about.
I really need to change my photography equipment by exploring with different types of cameras which I will soon do with my new film I've bought for my film cameras.

VSCO Grid

VSCO GRID.
VSCO is an app where I usually edit my photographs but they've introduced VSCO grid which is like Instagram but cutting out the likes and followers, just a general place where you can post your pictures after editing them with VSCO. The effects they have are pretty snazzy too, they all have a unique style that it gives to your photos that's quite vintage and vivid.

VSCO GRID is pretty cool on terms of general posting.

Check my VSCO grid out.

Apologises

My apologises that I haven't been writing any posts for a couple of months but everything has been very hectic for my blog to be my first priority.
Since I've been back to college all I've been worrying has been my UCAS form to be sent to the universities as well as my driving test (which I passed-thank the lord).

So, where to even begin...

I thought I'd mention what I'm going to be posting differently from now on. Hopefully I will be keeping you updated more and posting more regularly.
I want to start with posting my different outfits I wear everyday or at least my favourite weekly outfit.
I'm going to include my weekly photo-shoots I do for my photography work at college as well as any I managed  to do in my spare time.
You'll be able to see any new art work or any design work I'll be working on too. My adventures will hopefully show you where I've been and what's I've managed to pick up during my travels.

There's a lot to come by during this last month of 2013 and the upcoming year.

Hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year!
